Welcome to another weekly update about my BOM Musings video blog. I started this week with a video explaining when you don’t need CAD to create a BOM.

The topic of this week was inspired by the question – Are we on the same BOM?  Bill of Materials is a lifeblood of manufacturing and to put it in the center is very important. Innovating companies these days should be looking how to improve data management and BOM collaboration. It is a time to stop debating “Who owns the BOM?”

I finished last week by introducing a topic of master BOM and polyglot persistence. I will come back to this later this week.

Here are videos from last week. I hope you will find these video useful.

What is my conclusion? Communication is important. All BOM debates are around communication and people responsibilities. If you screw up communication in BOM management, you can significantly push back your company from making progress in BOM management, digital transformation and process improvement. Just my thoughts…
