Hello… This is Oleg with Beyond PLM and my video blog about Bill of Materials :). If you missed my earlier updates, I started a video blog – Musings about Bill of Materials (#bomusings). Please check this article – . Beyond PLM was celebrating 10 years in 2018 and new video blog.  Why Bill of Materials? It is simple… BOMs are absolutely fundamental for everything you do in engineering and manufacturing. It is manufacturing lifeblood.

As I can see a future challenge of PLM is how to combine sophistication needed for complex product development with simplification that demanded by all users these days. This is future biggest PLM challenge.

And, as I was asking myself how to start this journey, I thought that to bring a discussion about Bill of Materials can help to think about simplification in engineering and manufacturing. I can hear many people are looking how to get away from complexity of terminology, strange acronyms and names that actually not helping to understand how to manage product development and manufacturing. Bill of Materials is a good starting point. Most of people are in agreement about Bill of Materials (terminology) and I look forward to discover more as I will make a progress with my new video blog. As always, I look forward to your comments, ideas and also participation.

And, if you missed those on the YouTube, this is a next bunch of videos for you.

Best, Oleg
