I’m attending The Congress on the Future of Engineering Software (COFES 2016) these days in Scottsdale, AZ. COFES is the engineering software industry’s only annual think tank event which brings executives from design, engineering, architectural, development and technology companies together. You have a chance to talk to people, attend analysts and technology updates and most importantly meet great people.
Casual outdoor networking environment at COFES.
During first day at COFES, I had a chance to listen to industry briefing session called – The World Update. Updates were provided by Brand Holtz (Cyon Research), Peter Thorne (Cambashi Research) and Jon Peddie Research (JPR). Below few charts I captured during that session you may find interesting.
Cambashi – Subscription impart and total market 2016
Cambashi – Market Growth 2016
Jon Peddie Research (JPR) – Hardware Influence Software sales
Cyon Research – Priorities and interest of engineering software topics based on the latest Cyon Research Survey.
What is my conclusion? Engineering software will be a turbulent space in 2016. It is a conclusion I’ve made based on earlier presentations at CIMdata. Briefings at COFES 2016 just a confirmation for that. At the same time, companies will be innovating aggressively to achieve technological superiority and bigger market share. Just my thoughts…
Best, Oleg
