The complexity is probably the biggest problem that exists in PLM today. How can we resolve it? Siemens HD PLM is supposed to solve PLM complexity by proposing a new visual way to discover product information combining visual and textual effects. Al Dean of Develop3D was talking in his interview about PLM and Complexity during the last Siemens PLM conference.

What is my take? Making things visual can certainly provide some differentiation to the way information can be presented. The examples of HD PLM presented some mix of visual 3D and textual information. However, there is a good chance to make it even more complex because of brining more information on the screen. I’d try removing information from the display and not bringing an additional information. Just my thoughts…
